How we grow.

The most important component of sustainable farming is building and maintaining healthy soil. We utilize food-waste compost (i.e. no biosolids), leaf mulch, natural minerals, and organic matter to support our soil health. With every plant-growing cycle, nutrients are removed from the earth; we use natural and organic amendments to put back in what is taken out. We never use synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. Most of our pest control is done by our own hands.

How we harvest.

All of our produce is picked by hand specifically for your order. Aside from potatoes, cured onions, and pre-frost megapicks, nothing at La Finca is mass harvested, which means that your produce arrives to you within 24 hours of leaving the plant, maximizing freshness and nutrition.

What we grow.

We grow a wide variety of fruits and vegetables throughout the year in approximately 30,000 sq. ft. of growing space. Every year we add items to our growing list, including things that are brand new to our farm and new varieties of old favorites. We also have perennial fruits such as blackberries, blueberries, plums, mulberries, figs, and persimmons. In addition to our produce, we also offer herb and vegetable plants for sale in the Spring.

As a general practice, we try to utilize and consume as much of each plant as possible. You will find some unique flavors here that you won't be able to elsewhere, such as cauliflower greens, carrot tops, and scapes, just to name a few.
